Samoloty z kartonu: Relacja z budowy/Model build - Junkers Ju-88 C6 - Military Model (3-4/2003)

Junkers Ju-88 to samolot, którego model zawsze chciałem mieć w kolekcji. Odkładałem go ze względu na poziom trudności, dużą ilość części i rozmiar, ale kwestią czasu było jego pojawienie się na moim warsztacie. Do wyboru miałem trzy wersje wydane przez wydawnictwo A. Halińskiego, wybór padł na C-6 w zimowym kamuflażu z frontu wschodniego (Ukraina, zima 1942).. Pięknie się wpasuje na wystawę tematyczną w Szczecinie :-) O ile skończę do jesieni, bo przede mną na prawdę sporo roboty.

Junkers Ju-88 is a plane which model I always wanted to have in my collection. I put it for later due to difficulty level, a large number of parts and size, but it was a matter of time before I finally get it on my workshop. I had a choice of three versions released by Kartonowy Arsenal/Military Model. The choice fell on the C-6 in the winter camouflage from eastern front (Ukraine, winter 1942). I'd like to finish it until autumn, but I'll have a lot of work with it.

Budowę zacząłem późną jesienią, skleiłem kadłub i... na tym się zatrzymałem, nie miałem weny do klejenia, nie szło mi zbyt dobrze i schowałem model do pudła. Przez cały grudzień leżał tam razem z D3A Val'em. Val jest już gotowy więc najwyższy czas wrócić do Ju-88.

I started the build in late autumn, I made part of fuselage and... I stopped. I had no inspiration, and work wasn't going well. I put model into a box and it lay there for nearly two months (together witch Aichi D3A Val). Now, when Val is done, it's time to back to building Ju-88.

Zacząłem od tylnej części kadłuba. Robota prosta i przyjemna. Używam zestawu laserowo wyciętych wręg. Trochę trudności miałem z wklejeniem okrągłej szyby będącej osłoną anteny radionamiernika na grzbiecie kadłuba. Rozwiązanie zaproponowane przez autorów polegające na naklejeniu mniejszego kawałka folii na większy i podklejenie tego od wewnątrz nie zdało egzaminu, Nie znalazłem sposobu ani kleju, którym mógłbym to zrobić tak, aby zachować przejrzystość folii. Wyciąłem odpowiedniej wielkości pierścień z kartonu, nakleiłem na niego okrągły kawałek folii pasujący do otworu w kadłubie i wkleiłem w kadłub od wewnątrz. Efekt taki sobie, ale i tak lepszy niż to, co wychodziło mi z dwóch warstw folii.

I started from the rear part of the fuselage. Simple and enjoyable. I'm using laser cut frames set. I encountered some difficulties with the installation of the round glass cover of the longwave receiver on the top of fuselage. A solution proposed by the authors suggest to stick together a smaller piece of PVC foil on the bigger and put it on the inside of fuselage. I didn't find the way and glue by which I can stick them together clean and transparently. I cut an appropriate ring size of paper, glued a circular piece of PVC which fits into the hole in the fuselage and glued it from the inside. The effect is acceptable and still better than idea with two layers of PVC.

Stateczniki powstały dość szybko, to były raczej proste elementy. Popełniłem pewien błąd, na szczęście nie będzie on widoczny na gotowym modelu. Element stanowiący zakończenie kadłuba powinien być uformowany w kształt spłaszczonej litery "U" (zaznaczyłem na zdjęciu), ja nieświadomie dokleiłem go na płasko do wręgi kończącej kadłub.

Stabilizers were rather simple elements and I built them quickly. I made a mistake, but fortunately it won't be visible on the finished model. The element at the end of fuselage should be formed in the shape of a flattened letter "U" (marked on the photo), I realised that too late. Everything will be covered by the rudder, which comes into place so this is not really a problem.

Kilka rzeczy jest do poprawki: krawędzie wnęki kółka ogonowego (szlif i retusz), końcówki stateczników (retusz), końcówki tych dwóch elementów pod kadłubem wyglądających jak rury wydechowe (szlif i retusz).Dopiero na zdjęciach zauważyłem, że warto dopieścić te elementy :-)

A few things to fix: the edges of the tailwhell compartment (sanding and retouching), the tip of stabilizers (retouch), the edges of these two elements under the fuselage looking like exhaust pipes (sanding and retouching). I think that I can do it better :-)
